I don't have much time to write today, but I wanted to mention the beginning of the Year of Faith, and something that I found that I think will be really helpful. If you click here, you can sign up to receive a reading from the Catechism of the Catholic Church in your email everyday for the year. I have started to read the whole Catechism several times, but things always get in the way. This seemed like a good opportunity to correct this omission. I got the first reading today and it's quite manageable.
I'm thinking that I might write something about the reading once a week. If anyone is interested in discussing them, that would be nice, too.

I hope you do better with these daily emails than I've done with the Vatican News Service daily updates. They're sort of driving me crazy. They're in my mailbox waiting for me when I get to work in the morning, and I think "I can't take time to read that right now." Then the day goes by and I haven't read it--partly because, let's face it, at least half of it is uninteresting. Then the next day another one arrives. I now have 8 unread ones, so it's like having this constant reminder of yet another thing I need to make time for. So I don't think I'll sign up for this. However, I'll be interested in reading what you write. I'm sure I could manage to read one excerpt a week.
ReplyDeleteWell, these are pretty short--readable in a couple of minutes at most. I don't know anything about the Vatican News Service updates, but I expect they are longer.
