Well, I was picturing a square flowing with the blood of slaughtered animals. The Red Square in Moscow was only Communist for 70 years of its 300-odd years anyway, and the "red" has nothing to do with Communism. I actually thought it was to do with the colour of the buildings, but apparently that's not true either.
I know people whose first thought would probably be that it's a place Paul McCartney played a concert, rather than of parades of tanks and missile launchers. And at least one person whose first thought would probably be "blue circle". :)
Nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteI used to dance at the Red Square back when I was a crazy rave dance goer person. It was really more like anarchy than communism though.
ReplyDeleteA very different red from that on Moscow's main square, presumably.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost wondering if they know what Red Square connotes. I can't believe that there are a lot of communists in Hernando, MS.

ReplyDeleteWell, that first comment is really interesting Paul. If I had time, I'd look up some more about it. Thanks.
